What a great place to stay for our first visit to Hawaii. In April, 2007, my wife and I, and our two young children spent a week at Maui Ocean View. The condo is clean, modern and gives a spectacular view of the ocean from its deck. The two bedrooms are perfect for a family of four, and more with the sleeper sofa. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to make snacks to a full course meal (try the mahimahi, a locally caught sport fish). The condo itself and the Menehune Shores condo complex are clean, the people friendly, with easy and quick access to all the amenities of Kehei. The onshore winds at night combined with the surf are all that was needed to send us to sleep after a morning on local beaches and an afternoon of relaxing in the shade or with the kids playing in the Menehune Shore’s pool (which I couldn’t get them out of), right beside the ocean. In fact, the condo is one of the few in the Kehei area that is, literally, right up against the ocean. We also ate at the superb on-site restaurant and lounge right at Menehune Shores, by the pool and with large windows open to the ocean breeze and it has incredible food. Next time we go to Maui Ocean View (and there will be a next time) we’ll try to catch the humpback whale migration earlier in the year, which should be good watching as the Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary is just outside the condo windows. Me ka aloha pumehana (With kindest regards; warm aloha)
